MCV 2016 Petit Verdot (Paso Robles)

Deep and concentrated aromas of black currant and elderberry meet with smoke and lava rocks on the nose of this hearty but complex bottling by Matt Villard. The black-rock minerality extends to the palate, but it's more elegant than that, with touches of violet and lilac as well as strong acidity and firm tannins. Light char shows on the finish.
