Melini 1999 Bonorli Merlot (Tuscany)

The bouquet is full of roasted red fruit and sweetness. Flavors of blackberry follow in high-voltage manner. This is no plump California Merlot; instead it's firm and juicy, courtesy of piercing yet proper tannins and lively acids. Quite a grip is applied by the tannin-acid package, but it tastes really good. Michael Schachner
