Metz Road 2012 Viento Vineyard Estate Grown Pinot Noir (Monterey)

A smaller project from the Scheid family of wines, this single-vineyard expression offers a sanguine nose of blood, iodine, dirt, crushed violets and a touch of pungent juniper and pine. It's light and lithe on the palate, with pomegranate, cranberry and iron, proving to be a very fresh sipper. Matt Kettmann
