Meyer-Näkel 2016 Pfarrwingert GG Spätburgunder (Ahr)

Hints of char and licorice mingle into luscious raspberry and black cherry here. It's concentrated and plump but complex, nuanced by undertones of earth and beetroot and fine, chalky tannins. Fresh acidity and a mineral tang extend the finish. It's delightful now but will improve through 2030 and likely hold further. Anna Lee C. Iijima
