This is a perfectly good, garden-variety Merlot, one done in the leaner Northern Italian style. Nonetheless, it has some pop to it. Blackberry and chocolate grace the palate prior to a lengthy finish that showcases healthy, round fruit. Is it a blockbuster? No. Is it an eminently drinkable red wine? Definitely.
