Michel Gonet 1996 Brut (Champagne)

A blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir, this is the sort of weighty wine you would expect from the 1996 vintage, with powerful toasty aromas. Flavors of vanilla and honey come from partial wood fermentation. The aftertaste is rich, powerful and concentrated, though a little unbalanced from the dosage. Roger Voss
