The bouquet is light and snappy, with touches of chocolate. The mouthfeel is equally racy, but it's also high toned and borderline tart. The finish is fresh and it's here that the wine's acids do their thing. Depth isn't it's calling card, but it should do well with food given its zippy profile. The 14.4% alcohol, meanwhile, seems kind of high for Sangiovese. —M.S.
