French and Hungarian oak cradle the dusty juice of old vines in this soft, integrated wine, brawny in strawberry, orange zest and cheese rind. Black pepper and a note of leather close out the lengthy, spicy finish. Virginie Boone

Well done as every vintage of Mike´s wines. This Zin is soft and sofisticated, it for people like me, who works with California wine on daily basis and drink a lot of Zinfandel and need something more complex and deep than usual stuff. Wine is earty, aromas of black pepper, licorice, dried plums and tobacoo. Tannins are really soft and I like the Hungarian oak touch inside. This wine will be way better in 5-10 years, because it is shy right now, but will develop to beautiful, complex and long grown up in several years. Worth to buy if you can.
