93pointsMiner 2017 Garys' Vineyard Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands)

Editors' Choice

This winery is taking a lighter spin on the appellation, and this bottling works particularly well. A rusty shade in the glass, this wine offers aromas of pomegranate, cherry, wild mint and sage on the nose. The palate follows in line, combining crumpled sagebrush and thyme flavors with macerated cranberry and cherry, finishing on pops of cinnamon and clove. Matt Kettmann
