From old bush vines—some of which are a century old—this small batch Grenache marches to its own beat while also reflecting site and variety. Aromas are heady but delicate, with space for the red berry fruit to mingle with chocolate, terra-cotta and spice. The palate shows elegance and freshness with chalky, nicely placed tannins. There's lovely structure and elegance that's refreshing to see in a sea of jammy Grenache. Christina Pickard
