This bold, ripe-tasting and quite tannic wine needs plenty of time to show its best side. Deep black cherry and black-currant flavors are accented by smoky, cedary oak notes, and backed by a full body and firm texture. Subtle accents of cedar, cloves and iron add to its complexity. Best from 2027–2040. Jim Gordon
