Miraflores 2013 Tempranillo (El Dorado)

Editors' Choice

A super dark color and oodles of dark fruit in both the aroma and the flavor make this a rich and seductive wine. It packs in notes of black cherry, blackberry jam and dark chocolate without obvious oakiness even though winemaker Marco Cappelli aged it 20 months in 50% new oak. The wine has good firm structure from lots of soft tannins, full body and moderate acidity making it very impressive, concentrated and layered. Jim Gordon
