Mirassou 1998 Coastal Selection Pinot Noir (Monterey County)

Coffee, sugared tea, raspberry and a hint of smoked bacon lead to watery berry flavors and simple tannins in this tartly acidic wine. It's clean and drinkable but there's no getting around its basic one-dimensionality.
