Misiones de Rengo 2008 Reserva Sauvignon Blanc (Casablanca Valley)

Very intense and borderline rough. The nose is burnt/acrid, nutty and sulfuric, and ultimately it's a rough go. The palate is also aggressive and lemony, with an undercurrent of tart green apple. Then sulfur returns on the finish. Sometimes less is more, and this one just pushes too hard, with shaky results. Michael Schachner
