Montagna 2010 Tre Vigneti Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley)

Cellar Selection

The tannins on this Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Syrah blend are tough and gritty, making the wine drily astringent and hard to appreciate now. But the flavors sure are luscious. The wine brims with freshly crushed ripe blackberries and cassis, with hints of summer anise, cocoa and toast. It's a flashy wine, but you want to give it at least 5–6 years in the cellar to begin to throw some sediment and mellow.
