This smells slightly gamy and leathery, with upfront oak, marzipan and big black-fruit aromas. The palate is full and blocky but balanced, with toasty flavors of clove, savory berry, spice and raw oak. The finish is dry and tannic, with heat, unresolved oak and chocolate flavors. Best from 2015–2018.
