A little flat and resiny on first take, with a lot of toast and oaky sweetness to the nose. The palate is propped up by citrusy acidity, which adds snap to an otherwise creamy and resiny palate with sweet fruit and spice flavors. Citrusy acids are the key to keeping this oaky wine's head above water. Michael Schachner
