This Malbec is consistent with the type of wines Monteviejo makes. It's ripe and leathery on the bouquet, with aromas of molasses, licorice, cheese and jammy blackberry. The palate is full bodied and chewy feeling, with blackberry, baked plum, hard spice and chocolate flavors. A warm, roasted finish suggests chocolate cake and cured meats. Drink now through 2016.
