This vintage of Ribbon Vale is highly herbal and savory. Notes of tobacco leaf, green olive and scrubby coastal herbs weave between fleshy red and black currants. The chocolatey oak shows once the wine warms in glass. The palate is broad shouldered with fuzzy tannins, plump fruit and savory herbs. It's not overripe but it is lacking some tension and feels a bit weighed down by the oak. Drink now–2028. Christina Pickard
