Mount Langi Ghiran 2004 Cliff Edge Shiraz (Victoria)

Starts off rather Rhônish, with hints of white pepper and grilled meat, then offers tart cherry fruit on the palate, accented by those same savory elements. The tannins are modest but silky, and the acids turn up while the flavors thin out just a bit on the finish. Drink now–2014. Joe Czerwinski
