Mountain Dome 1998 Brut Sparkling (Washington)

The vintage brut is the same blend and receives the same treatment as the NV, but the best barrels are chosen and it gets an extra three years en tirage. Just 300 cases were made of the '98. It is showing mature flavors of toast and buttered pears. Round and creamy, it's got a bold toastiness but retains enough fruit to remain fresh. Paul Gregutt
