This is the winery's reserve cuvée, first produced in 1995 and released for the Millennium. It's half pinot and half chardonnay, made from the best of the best grapes and vintages. This is just the second release in the winery's two decade history. Though NV, it is based on the very ripe 1998 vintage. The winery's most elegant sparkling wine, it has a fine, textured mouthfeel and nicely nuanced flavors of pear, apple and light citrus. The over-the-top fruitiness of the regular brut is tamed, and it has the grace and texture of a genuine Champagne.
