Lifted scents of red plum and brambly berries open this everyday-drinking Shiraz. Licorice, mocha and a ferrous note come in at the back. Juicy fruit on the palate is wound in muscular, chalk-textured tannins, with a touch of heat from the alcohol. Nevertheless the wine conveys lovely freshness and relative harmony overall, especially as it opens in glass. Christina Pickard
