93pointsMuhr-Van der Niepoort 2013 Liebkind Blaufränkisch (Carnuntum)

A whole world of ideas assails the nose: coniferous forests, stone, ash and white pepper all tinge fresh blueberry and red cherry notes. On the palate, this is taut and tightly coiled. Fresh berries and cherries are still packed away beneath a layer of tart freshness, blinking through alluringly beneath the peppery spice. This is intriguing now but will open up like a flower with some bottle age. Its firm structure and innate freshness signal real ageing potential. Drink 2016–2026. Anne Krebiehl MW
