Pineapple and fresh fennel scents are both fun and sophisticated. This wine is all business on the palate, though—restrained and light bodied, with lean, muscular notes of wet stone and lemon zest rippling just below the surface. The finish is long and suggests dried herbs and petrol; this austere wine may be a little bit more forthcoming with just a little bit of bottle aging. Layla Schlack
