Murray McDavid Jamaica Rum 1992 Distilled at Hampden, Port Cask Finish

The uninviting aroma includes scents of sautéed onion, cigarette smoke, smelly cheeses and vinyl. The palate improves with flavors of tobacco leaf, sea salt and oak; the midpalate offers tastes of beeswax, lip salve, popcorn, palm oil and ruby Port. Finish is oily with tastes of wax, tobacco, Port and seaweed. A curiously fascinating oddball. P.P.
