Opaque ruby in color, this even-split blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot shows a concentrated nose of dark cherry, blackberry and sweet herbal inflections. The medium-bodied palate boasts additional black fruit, offering spiced plum, vanilla, coffee and cocoa notes. This wine is quite enjoyable now due to the mild, sandy tannins.
Formerly working in the Finger Lakes wine region of upstate New York, Peartree's passion for terroir-expressive products, which spans from wine to cider and tea, is only rivaled by his love of canoeing and hiking. He prefers to focus on wines from Virginia, Michigan, Texas and other smaller U.S. regions, as well as domestic and international cider.
