Naumes 2018 Tempranillo (Rogue Valley)

Despite the substantial alcohol, this has a strong green element, suggesting green tobacco and green coffee beans, in particular. The fruit flavors are hidden by the tannins and the barrel aging. Though just 20% of the barrels were new, the strong toasted oak flavors dominate, along with cedar, mocha, sandalwood and a light impression of tart blackberry. Paul Gregutt
