That there are clear, unmistakable aromatics of smoked meats and violets could lead you into believing that this is Malbec, but it's not. Plum, cassis and chocolate flavors push it more toward traditional Merlot, as does the airy, round finish. The tannins are full and aggressive, yet the overall balance and depth are solid.
