This opens from aromas of dried black fruit, spiced plum, sage, pipe tobacco and mocha. The rich palate offers ripe blackberries, anisette, coffee and a chocolate note alongside smooth, velvety tannins. While it's concentrated, it manages its heft with surprising finesse. Drink through 2019.
