Ninquén 2005 Antu Mountain Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon-Carmenère (Colchagua Valley)

Tight at first, with aromas of olive, brick dust, cured cheese and dark fruit. The palate on this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère (15%) is narrow but healthy. There's a tough juiciness to it, and eventually it reveals black plum and cherry flavors along with a chocolaty finish that holds its pose until the cameras are off. Michael Schachner
