This is still closed and needs both swirling and swishing to awake. Once it opens up a taut, structured red appears with dense, firm but fine tannins corsetting ripe black cherry and blueberry fruit. There is midpalate weight countered by freshness and glimpses of cinnamon and pepper spice. This has impact but is not heavy, it is concentrated but finely woven. Its lovely balance will benefit from bottle age. Drink 2022–2030. Anne Krebiehl MW
