North Bar 2017 Tempranillo (Rogue Valley)

This is undeniably tasty, but it's more about the barrels than the grapes. Oaky flavors of baking spices and smoke and vanilla all but completely conceal the raspberry fruit. There's a swath of tanned leather also, and the finish is quite astringent. Drink up. Paul Gregutt
