The wine's aromas of dark berries, dust and earth are reminiscent of pulling the car over to pick roadside blackberries. There's also a slight scent of balsa wood. The full-bodied wine delivers copious amounts of blackberry and black-cherry fruit to go along with flavors of bittersweet dark chocolate and toasty oak. The tannins are nicely integrated, although acidity is on the modest side. Michael Alberty
