Notre Dame de Cousignac 2014 Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

While bold in frame and body, this lusciously fruity wine offers structure and balance as well. Plush dark cherry and preserved-strawberry flavors envelope the palate, juxtaposed by hits of spice and leather. The finish is long and warming but lingers pleasantly with fine, persistent tannins and a spicy licorice note. Drink through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
