Nottingham Cellars 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon (Livermore Valley)

Nottingham's biggest Cab production at 375 cases, this is a mix of Cabs from four different Livermore Valley vineyards, including three that Nottingham vineyard designates, and about half the price. But spring for the good stuff. This still-closed Cab, with small percentages of Petite Sirah, Merlot and Syrah, is very herbal and savory, with plenty of tannin and tobacco. Virginie Boone
