Novelty Hill 2018 Stillwater Creek Vineyard Malbec (Columbia Valley (WA))

With the fruit having been aged 20 months in a combination of French (75%) and American oak, aromas of vanilla, sweet baking spice and cherry are followed by lightly grainy feeling plum flavors. It has a pleasing acidic lift on the finish. The oak gets in the way somewhat on an otherwise enjoyable wine. Sean P. Sullivan
