Dry, oaky spice and earth notes rest on top of mulchy berry fruit and leather aromas. In the mouth, this is tannic and grabby, with herbal notes and bitterness blended with plum and berry flavors. Having spent 20 months in oak, the finish is loaded with mint, toast, charred bitterness and herbal accents. A quality wine but one with some shortcomings. Michael Schachner
