91pointsOdonata 2017 Machado Creek Vineyard Sangiovese (Santa Clara Valley)

Polished yet rocky aromas of wet gravel and turned loam meet with dried tarragon and red currant on the nose of this bottling. There is a strong wood presence on the palate, from sandalwood to oak, which frames that dried strawberry and cranberry flavors. It's still a bit tight and needs some time to develop. Matt Kettmann
