Offley's Ports have improved considerably in quality. This LBV is the first fruits of new owners Sogrape, Portugal's largest wine company (who also own Ferreira and Sandeman Ports). It is ripe, elegant and immediately fruity, with an attractive aroma of tea roses. But with its tannins and balance between sweetness and dryness, there is a more serious side to the wine, which suggests an aging potential. —R.V.
