Ojai 2015 Duvarita Vineyard Syrah (Santa Barbara County)

Intriguing aromas of baked boysenberry meet with hints of caramel and cola spice on the fairly rich nose of this bottling from a vineyard that is just west of the Sta. Rita Hills. It's a full package on the palate, offering elderberry, tart black-plum, lavender and white-sage flavors, framed by compelling acid and structure. Matt Kettmann
