Oliverhill 2000 Jimmy Section Shiraz (McLaren Vale)

Editors' Choice

A complex bouquet of dark plummy fruit, bacon, wheat, leather and eucalyptus opens this uniformly well-liked offering. It's full and even, with fine fruit-to- acid balance on the palate, good texture and weight, and roasted fruit, licorice, earth and mint flavors. More than one panelist described this seamless, smooth wine as sexy. It's a lovely, seductive example with a long, evenly tannic blackberry, cocoa and caramel-tinged finish.
