Though there are ample aromas of charred berry, plum and tar on the nose of this blend of mostly Tempranillo with Grenache, Syrah and Malbec, there's a lavender note that keeps the wine lighter on its feet. The palate is complex, running from elderberry through roasted fennel bulb and rainbow peppercorns. Drink through 2030. Matt Kettmann
