Opolo 2012 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles)

Though a reserve bottling, this shows a very fresh and sprightly side of the grape rather than its dense face. Squeezed blackberries, just-picked thyme and a touch of burnt caramel show on the nose, while the palate offers Concord grape, boysenberry and iced-coffee flavors. Matt Kettmann
