Orchid Hill 2004 Syrah (Paso Robles)

The problem with this Syrah is excessive sweetness. It tastes more like an off-dry or dessert wine than a dry table wine, with jellied black cherry, black raspberry, red currant and pepper flavors, although that could be due to very high alcohol rather than residual sugar. If you like your reds sweet, this one's for you.
