Otis Kenyon 2005 Reserve Seven Hills Merlot (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

Just four barrels of this reserve Merlot were made, and it's a solid step up from the excellent regular bottling. This is more saturated and jammy, yet it does not settle just for sweetness and fruit. Concentrated black raspberry and blackberry flavors linger gracefully, then fade into smoky espresso and licorice. A substantial effort that was still drinking quite well three days after being opened. Paul Gregutt
