Paix Sur Terre 2016 The Golden Road Monastrell (Paso Robles Willow Creek District)

Editors' Choice

This bottling, which is now known to be Graciano, is very deep in color and shows hearty black plum, purple flower and smoked meat on the focused nose. It's thick on the palate, loaded with vanilla, shaved chocolate, charred beef and wild dark berry, presented atop chalky tannins that are firm yet enveloping. Matt Kettmann
