Paix Sur Terre 2019 The Golden Road Yankowski Vineyard Red (Paso Robles Willow Creek District)

Editors' Choice

Graciano showed up a mislabeled surprise in most California vineyards, and this blend with 40% Mourvèdre is a good example of how to use it. Dark in the glass, it begins on the nose with penetrating while dry aromas of boysenberry, black currant, violet and asphalt. The chiseled tannins are present but not intrusive on the palate, where the dark-fruit and flower elements meet with dark-chocolate notes. Matt Kettmann
