Paracombe 1998 Shiraz (Adelaide Hills)

This South Australian shows complexity from stem to stern, its deep, dark fruit accented by tobacco and anise. The fruit shines on the palate, but the finish really stands out, with tremendous length and an impressive cocoa, nut, plum and caramel fade. The elements aren't unique; this just struts its fine stuff in perfect proportion, with great balance and style. Drink now and until 2006. Top Value.
