Whiffs of sandalwood and smoke lend interest to the nose of this ripe, concentrated Chardonnay. Vinified in stainless steel and matured primarily unoaked (just 10% in barrel), it offers orange-peel and red-apple flavors accented by spicy hints of white pepper and anise. An unusual expression of Chablis from a hot vintage, the wine is ready now but should hold nicely through 2026. Anna Lee C. Iijima
